Information We Collect and How It Is UsedWe collect certain information from you when you register with MadeBig, including: your name, your date of birth, the country you reside in, your postal code, your e-mail address and your password. We allow all users to opt out at any time from receiving e-mail messages and other electronic communications from third parties including selected MadeBig partners. We allow all users to opt out of receiving selected e-mail messages and electronic communications from MadeBig; however please be aware that there are some e-mail messages and electronic communications from MadeBig that you cannot opt out of.
When you enter MadeBig we collect your browser type (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc.) as well as your IP address. MadeBig also uses “cookie” technology. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer that is tied to information about the user. MadeBig uses cookies to enhance the user experience. Although MadeBig does not require cookies it is advised as some areas of the site may not function to their full capabilities without the use of cookies.
When you register for MadeBig, you create your own profile and privacy settings. In addition to your profile there are several other areas of MadeBig where User Content can be posted (as defined in the MadeBig Terms of Service). All user content posted on the Site is posted at your own risk. MadeBig has privacy options that allow you to control most content you provide, but please be advised that although MadeBig employs the highest level of protection possible, we cannot guarantee that our security measures are impenetrable; therefore we suggest that you exercise caution when posting personal information about yourself on the site. If you choose to invite a friend to the MadeBig site, we request that you provide us with the necessary information for us to send that invitation (i.e. an e-mail address and name). MadeBig will only send this invitation once unless you request to send the invitation again, and we only retain that information for as long as it is necessary to send that invitation.
MadeBig is a site dedicated to being an area where our users can spend time creating, sharing and connecting with others. Profile information such as your name, profile picture and Region will be available in search results and Region pages on MadeBig to facilitate user interaction in the MadeBig social networking community.
MadeBig may send you newsletters, service announcements, updates, etc. from time to time to your e-mail address. Generally, you may opt out of such e-mails through your Notification settings in the Account section of My Account. Please be aware that there are some e-mail messages and electronic communications from MadeBig that you cannot opt out of.
MadeBig uses the information you provide to the site, either during registration or by use of the site, for research purposes, including demographics. Any information you provide may be used in aggregate form for further marketing purposes. It is possible that MadeBig will provide certain information, such as general demographics, to third parties, but we will never share identifiable information with others without your consent.
Sharing Your Information with Third Parties
MadeBig is about creating, sharing and connecting information with others, including Friends, people and places in your Region. While that is what MadeBig is about we do this all while providing you with privacy settings that restrict others users from accessing your information. We allow you to choose most information you provide to Friends and Regions through MadeBig. Our network architecture and your Privacy Settings allow you to make informed choices about who has access to your information. We do not provide contact information to third party marketers without your permission. We share your information with third parties only in limited circumstances where we believe such sharing is 1) reasonably necessary to offer the service, 2) legally required or 3) permitted by you. For example:
• Your Social Feeds may aggregate the information you provide and make it available to your Friends and Region members according to your Privacy Settings. You may set your preferences for your Social Feeds in My Account under Privacy Settings.
• We may be required to disclose user information pursuant to lawful requests, such as subpoenas or court orders, or in compliance with applicable laws. Additionally, we may share account or other information when we believe it is necessary to comply with law, to protect our interests or property, to prevent fraud or other illegal activity perpetrated through the MadeBig service or using the MadeBig name, or to prevent imminent bodily harm. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, agents or government agencies.
• Send personalized information about MadeBig and its site features and special offers, unless you have opted out of receiving these types of communications.
• Send you advertising from third parties including selected and trusted MadeBig partners, unless you have opted out of receiving these types of communications.
• Provide your personal information to selected third parties unless you have opted not to permit such sharing.
• Contact users for feedback regarding MadeBig and MadeBig’s partners via e-mail surveys.
• We may offer stores or provide services jointly with other companies on MadeBig. We may share customer information with that company in connection with your use of that store or service.
When you use MadeBig, certain information you post or share with third parties (i.e. a Friend or your Region), such as personal information, comments, messages, media, MarketExchange listings or other information, may be shared with other users in accordance with the Privacy Settings you select. All such sharing of information is done at your own risk. Please keep in mind that if you disclose personal information in your profile or when posting comments, messages, media, MarketExchange listings or other items, this information may become publicly available.
Children under the Age of 13
MadeBig is committed to the safety of our children. Children under age 13 may not participate or use the MadeBig service. MadeBig does not knowingly collect any personal information from such children at this site or allow such person to register.
Links and AdvertisementsMadeBig may contain links and/or advertisements to other Web sites. MadeBig is not responsible for the privacy practices of these other Web sites. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by MadeBig. We strongly encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information.
Changing or Removing Information
Access and control over most personal information on MadeBig is readily available through the Edit Profile in My Account. Members of MadeBig may modify or delete any of their profile information at any time by logging into their account. Information will be updated immediately. Individuals who wish to inactivate their MadeBig account may do so by e-mailing MadeBig Customer Service. Removed information may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time but will not be generally available to members of MadeBig.
Where you make use of communication features to share information with other individuals on MadeBig, however, (i.e. sending a personal message to another MadeBig user, local reviews, etc.) you generally cannot remove such content.
Security
MadeBig has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. The servers for our site are stored in a physically secured and climate controlled off-site facility. Beyond the physical protection of the servers, we protect against data loss by regularly backing up data, performing consistency checks with independently recorded log files to prevent tampering and restricting access to information on our servers via several user authentication technologies. All personally identifiable information transmitted to MadeBig is transferred through our secure servers using the latest web security technology. MadeBig will make every effort to protect the quality and integrity of personally identifiable information. Members are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of their passwords and/or any other account information.
