MarketExchange

What is the MarketExchange?

The MarketExchange is where users can buy and sell goods. Members on MadeBig can visit the MarketExchange to browse, buy or sell their goods. There is no cost to list in the MarketExchange and no actual money is exchanged. Members purchase items with Tokens. Other forms of payment such as cash, credit and debit cards are not permitted.

Information for Buyers

How do I buy an item?

Buying items in the MarketExchange is simple. You can begin by searching for a specific item, browse the different categories until you see something you like, Or sort the MarketExchange listings by clicking on the drop down box at the top of the page. Once you have found something that strikes your fancy, click on the title of the item. Review the information about the item, including the amount of Tokens it will cost you. If the item is Pick Up Only be sure to review the city and state where the item is located for pick up as the seller will not ship this item and it is your responsibility to pick up the item. Select “Purchase” (if you are looking at the item on the MarketExchange landing page) or “Buy Now” (if you are looking at a specific listing). Select the correct shipping information and click “Purchase.” The correct number of Tokens will be automatically deducted from your account as well as a 10% transaction fee. You must have a COMPLETE shipping address (street address, city, state abbreviation and zip code) and be located within the United States (MadeBig does not allow international users to post or purchase in the MarketExchange at this time) in order to make a purchase in the MarketExchange.

You may have more than one shipping address for your account. To add more addresses, click on My Account and then the My MarketExchange link; here you will be able to add other shipping addresses in the My Addresses section. Please note that the address that is listed first will default as your shipping address.

Why can't I see a Buy Now button?
If you do not have enough Tokens to purchase this item, the Buy Now button will not be visible.


I ordered something that I no longer want. Can I cancel my order?
No, you may not cancel an order. Once you complete a purchase in the MarketExchange it is considered a contract and is binding as such. After you confirm your purchase the Tokens are automatically deducted from your account and are non-refundable.

How do I know what items I have purchased?
You can view your items by clicking on My Account at the top of the page. You will then click on My MarketExchange, here you can see a full list of items you have purchased under History.

What do I do when I receive the item?
When you receive the item you must log into MadeBig and click on My Account, My MarketExchange and Summary. Locate the item you have received and click Yes. You will then be directed to the item listing page to confirm. After confirming you have received the item you will then be prompted to leave the seller feedback regarding this item.

If you receive an item that is damaged or unsatisfactory you must contact the seller to request a refund.

When and how can I file a refund request?

If you purchased the item less than 30 days ago, please do not contact Customer Service. Instead, you should contact the seller directly via your Inbox or the Ask a Seller link on the item listing. A seller is allowed up to 30 days after the date of purchase to ship an item.

As a buyer you may only request a refund between 30 and 35 days past the date of sale. To request a refund:

1. Log onto MadeBig
2. Click on My Account at the top of the page
3. Click on My MarketExchange
4. Click on Summary
5. Locate the item you have not received and click No you have not received this item. You will then be prompted to complete the Refund Request form.
•If it is an item you have purchased the ability to click No will only be visible between 30-35 days after date of sale. •If it’s within this time frame and you are unable to click No or are unable to locate the item it is because the Seller has already requested a refund for this item.
6. Click No again on the item listing page to bring up the refund request form.

After requesting a refund the seller will receive an email with your request. Please be advised that a refund request is at the full discretion of the seller. MadeBig will not be involved in any purchasing or refund transactions. If you have a complaint regarding a seller you may leave feedback. Please remember all feedback is permanent.

Where can I see my Refund history?

To view all refunds processed:
1. Log into MadeBig
2. Click on My Account at the top of the page
3. Click on My MarketExchange
4. Click on Refund
This will show all of your Refunds in process or already processed.


How long should I wait for a seller to contact me? How do I contact a seller?

When you purchase an item the seller will receive a notification on their Home page that their item has been purchased. If you do not hear from the seller within three days after you have purchased an item, try to contact the seller directly. Remember that a seller is allowed 30 days to ship an item.

There are two ways that you can contact a seller. You can click on the “Ask seller a question” link in the item’s listing. You can also contact a seller by going into My Account, My MarketExchange and then clicking on History. After locating the item you wish to follow up on click on Ask Seller.

How can I protect myself from fraud? How do I spot a scam?

MadeBig strives to protect the best interests of our members, so we want you to be aware of the following red flags for fraudulent activity:


1. A seller is requesting payment in a currency other than Tokens.
2. A seller requires the buyer to contact them via e-mail or telephone before purchasing an item.
3. A seller requires that the buyer complete the transaction using a third party (i.e. a Pay Pal site) outside the confines of the MarketExchange.
4. The seller provides no information or photographs on his or her user profile page.
5. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
6. Contact the seller if you have questions about a listing; if you think something is suspicious, do not complete the transaction.
7. A seller contacts you in an e-mail and tries to sell you the same item or something similar for a cash amount. If this happens, report the user to MadeBig immediately.
8. A seller has multiple bad ratings. You can view the sellers rating in the item listing on the right hand side. You can also click on View Sellers Feedback to read what other buyers have experienced with this seller.

If you spot two or more of these flags when you are checking out a posting, you should not purchase the item. Always exercise caution when working with users who are not in your social network.

Do I have to pay for the shipping and handling of my purchase when I spend my Tokens?

No, the seller is responsible for delivery charges.

How do I report a listing?

To report a listing, click the Red Flag link on the item page. You can also report a listing by contacting customerservice@madebig.com.


How do I leave Feedback for a seller when I receive the item?

There are two ways a buyer can leave feedback for a seller. After receiving your item log into MadeBig. Click on My Account, My MarketExchange, History and then locate the item in question. By clicking on Leave Feedback you can complete a short rating questionnaire and leave a comment if applicable. Or after receiving the item log into MadeBig. Click on My Account, My MarketExchange, Summary and then locate the item in question. Click Yes to show you have received this item. You will then be prompted to leave feedback regarding this item.

Remember all ratings are final and can not be changed or removed.

Information for Sellers

How do I sell an item?

To sell an item either click on the “Sell an Item” button on the MarketExchange homepage. Fill out the sell form as completely as possible and add a picture to enhance your posting. If you do not want to ship the item you must check the Pick Up Only box. You will then enter the city and state where the item is located for pick up. Review your information and then click on the “Post Item” button to add your item to the MarketExchange. Be sure to only list items that you would be willing to buy such as items you love but no longer need or want.

How many items am I allowed to list at a time?

You may list as many items as you like, however, under the Duplicate Item Policy, you may list no more than five identical items at a time. Items are considered identical if they have all of the same attributes (color, size, model number, material, etc). The Duplicate Item Policy does not apply to items that are similar but not identical. Listings which exceed this limit are subject to removal.

All attributes must be specified in the listing. Sellers cannot indicate that buyers can choose these attributes after purchasing the item. If you have identical items in different colors, sizes, materials, models, etc., they must be listed individually.

What fees does MadeBig charge to sell?

MadeBig never charges fees for you to sell items in the MarketExchange. It is free to post items; the only cost to you is shipping to the buyer after the purchase is made.

When do I receive my Tokens?
When your item is purchased the Tokens will be removed from the buyers account and held by MadeBig for up to 30 – 35 days. Upon receiving the item the buyer must log into their My MarketExchange and click Yes, I have received this item. Tokens will then be released to your account. If the buyer does not receive this item they may click No, I have not received this item and request a refund. If a buyer does not click Yes or No Tokens will be released to you after 35 days.

How do I edit my listing after it is posted?

To edit your listing after you have posted it, log into MadeBig and go to the My MarketExchange section of My Account. Find the listing that you want to edit in your Active Listings and click on the title of that item. Select the “Edit” button on the item information page and make any changes you would like. Save the changes and resubmit your posting.

How do I cancel a listing after it is posted?

You can only cancel a listing if it has not been purchased. To cancel an item, log into the My MarketExchange section of My Account and select the item in question. Click the “Delete” button on the item information page.

How do I relist an item?

1. Go to My Account (located in the upper-right-hand side of the screen)
2. Click on My MarketExchange
3. On the Summary page you will see a list of Inactive Items
4. Find an item you want to post for sale in the MarketExchange
5. Click on the List Item link next to the item’s information
6. Verify that all of the information is correct; if it’s not, you can make changes here
7. If you would rather have the buyer pick the item up instead of shipping it, make sure you check the PICK UP ONLY box (and set your Shipping Cost to 0)
8. Click NEXT
9. Review the Important Notes for Sellers
10. Click NEXT
11. Your item is now listed in the MarketExchange
12. Repeat these steps as necessary

Seller Tips

o Post complete and accurate information about the item.
o Include a clear picture.
o Keep your price reasonable.
o Answer questions about your posting promptly.
o Monitor your item; if no one is showing interest it’s possible that you may need to lower your asking price.
o Be patient. You will need to build credibility and earn high ratings before your listings will sell quickly.


How do I contact a buyer?

You can contact a buyer by clicking on My Account, My MarketExchange and History. Locate the item you wish to contact the buyer about and click on Ask Buyer. Your message will be sent to the buyers Inbox.


What happens if the buyer doesn’t receive the item or is not satisfied with the item?

If the buyer does not receive the item purchased they may file a refund request between 30-35 days. A seller may file a refund for an item anytime between 0-60 days. When a buyer files a refund for an item they have not received the seller will receive an email with the refund link. Sellers will need to approve or deny the refund request. If a seller does not approve or deny a refund within 7 days the refund will be automatically denied. If a seller files a refund it will be automatically approved with in 3 days.

If a buyer is unsatisfied or item is damaged during shipping the buyer must contact you the seller to request a refund. If you wish to give a refund follow the steps below to request a refund for that buyer.

To request a refund:
1. Log into MadeBig
2. Click on My Account at the top of the page
3. Click on My MarketExchange
4. Click on History
5. Locate the item you wish to request a refund for and click on the Offer Refund link.
•If it is an item you have sold the Refund link will only be visible between 0-60 days. •If it’s within 30-35 days after date of purchase and there is not a Refund link visible, this means the Buyer has already requested a refund.
6. Complete the Refund form for this item with the correct information.

Please note that a refund request may take up to 3 days to be full processed and MadeBig reserves the right to deny any requests.

If you are a seller and the buyer has requested a refund, it is at your discretion to approve or deny the request. Please be aware that a buyer may provide feedback on the transaction at any point, even if you choose to deny their refund request. However, Sellers may leave a rebuttal to a buyer’s feedback.

Where can I see my Refund history?

To view all refunds processed:
1. Log into MadeBig
2. Click on My Account at the top of the page
3. Click on My MarketExchange
4. Click on Refund
This will show all of your Refunds in process or already processed.

How do I check Feedback left by the buyer?

To view the Feedback left by a buyer log into Madebig, click on My Account and My MarketExchange. Locate the item in questions and click on Feedback. You will be given a rating a from 1-4 depending on the question results answered by the buyer. The buyer can also leave comments regarding this item. All feedback is permanent. You may leave a response to the buyers comment if you'd like.


Why was my listing taken down?
MadeBig does not support the posting of offensive or harmful material. If your item was reported to us by another user, we will notify you to remind you of our policies and or remove the item, but if you do not adhere to the site’s rules, your account may be subject to:

o Limits on account privileges
o Account inactivation


What is NOT allowed to be listed or purchased in the MarketExchange?

o Live Animals
o Coupons/Vouchers
o Lottery Tickets
o MB Collector Coins
o Announcements and or advertisements
o Firearms
o Weapons
o Fireworks or any destructive devices or explosives
o Prescription, non prescription or illegal drugs
o Alcohol or Tobacco Products
o Illegal, stolen or counterfeit goods
o Material that infringes the rights of a third party, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, rights of publicity or privacy (including bootleg copies)
o Hazardous goods


This list may change at any time at the discretion of MadeBig. You will always be notified if your item is removed. Also, if you violate any MadeBig policy in the MarketExchange, you may be charged a transaction fee for the item in question.
